The Solemnity of St. Jerome Emiliani is on February 8th. We will have a special Mass on Sunday February 11th at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate St. Jerome, founder of the Somascan Fathers.
St Jerome founded the "Company of Servants of the Poor" in 1534 which later became the Order of the Somascan Fathers.
The Church proclaimed Jerome Blessed in 1747 and Saint in 1767. Pius XI declared him the Universal Patron Saint of the Orphans and Needy Youth. Jerome's mission of love continuously renews itself through his sons, the Somascan Fathers and Brothers.
Fr. Dixon and Fr. Romualdo will be joined by other Somascan Fathers. The Vicar General for the Diocese The Very Reverend Shawn Therrien will preside at this special Mass.
