Hello friends,
Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, where Jesus had His last meal with His followers before He was killed.
This day is also referred to as Maundy Thursday. Maundy comes from the Latin word "mandatum" which means "mandate" or "command." "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." - John 13:34.
At the end of the meal, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples as a sign and example of humility and love. "Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." - John 13:16-17
